Senior citizen levies on ballot

There will be one county-wide issue for voters in both Lucas and Fulton counties in today’s general election. The ballot should be finalized later this month.

In Fulton County, a five-year, 1.6-mill renewal and a 0.1-mill increase will be decided. In Lucas County, there will be a 0.60-mill renewal with a 0.15-mill increase for five years.

They are for providing and maintaining senior citizen services and facilities.

Voters in Richfield and Providence townships will be asked to approve fire levies. Richfield Township voters will decide on a five-year, 2.5-mill renewal, and Providence Township will vote on an additional continuing 3-mill levy.

A trio of renewal levies are on the ballot in Fulton County.

In Delta, voters will decide whether to renew a five-year, 1.25-mill levy used for operating the municipal pool. Amboy Township will have a five-year, 0.75-mill renewal for maintaining and operating cemeteries. York Township will have a five-year, 0.5-mill renewal levy for fire protection services.

The final issue is for Sunday sales of wine and mixed beverages and spirituous liquor at Pueblo Lindo in Delta. It will voted on only by those in the Delta One precinct.

There are also many candidates on the ballot throughout the area. There are races for mayor, city and village councils, township boards of trustees, and township fiscal officers.
