It is once again the week when little ghosts and goblins will roam the streets seeking treats. Swanton will have two days of Halloween fun this year.

The first will be on Halloween night, which falls on Thursday. Trick-or-treating in the Village of Swanton will be held from 6-7:30 p.m.

Although trick-or-treating and the Halloween Hoopla have previously been held the same day, that is not the case this year.

Halloween Hoopla will be Saturday from 3-5 p.m. in downtown Swanton. The Hoopla, which is a free family-friendly event, is presented by members of the Swanton Lions Club and Ashley Stambaugh.

There will be activities for kids, such as trick-or-treating at local businesses, pedal carts, inflatables, cookie decorating, crafts, and a straw maze. And food will also be available.

Once again, dancers from Daryl Jervis Dance Studio will perform to the Michael Jackson hit, “Thriller.” Also, there will be a DJ.

Other area communities have also set dates for Halloween activities. In Delta, trick-or-treating will be Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m.

Metamora will have trick-or-treating from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, with the Evergreen Community Library turning into a haunted library for those hours. A village-sponsored children’s Halloween party will be held at the Metamora-Amboy Fire Station on Mill Street from 6-8:30 p.m. There will be complimentary refreshments, donuts, and hot dogs.

Whitehouse, Springfield Township, and Monclova Township will be trick-or-treating form 6-8 p.m. on the Halloween night.
