FINDLAY – Access beyond the Sportsman’s Migratory Bird Center located at Magee Marsh Wildlife Area will be temporarily closed during the fall hunting season according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.
The road on Magee Marsh Wildlife Area will be closed beginning September 30 until December 14 to provide quality hunting experiences for Ohio’s sportsmen and women. The closure will cover all areas beyond the Sportsman’s Migratory Bird Center to the beach area, including the boardwalk and beach trails.
Exceptions to the closure include Oct. 12 – 13, Oct. 19 – 20, Nov. 9 – 10, Nov. 16 -17, Nov. 30 – Dec. 1, and Dec. 7 – 8. During these dates, the road will open at 3 p.m. on Saturday and remain open until sunset on the corresponding Sunday. The road will also be open from Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. until Nov. 3 at sunset. Anglers and wildlife viewers will be permitted access to the beach area and wildlife trails during these days.
The Sportsmen’s Migratory Bird Center and bird center walking trail will remain open for wildlife viewing during the fall hunting season. Magee Marsh is located at 13229 West State Route 2, Oak Harbor, 43449.
