The Swanton American Legion Riders plan to hit the road Saturday to benefit military veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. And the public can join them for the event.

The 5th Annual Battle Buddy Poker Run will kick off Saturday, Aug. 24, at 11:30 a.m. from Murbach-Siefert American Legion Post #479, 200 Hallett Ave., Swanton.

Registration begins at the Swanton Legion post at 9:30 a.m. Admission to the ride, which is open to the public, is $15 per rider, $10 per passenger.

The Swanton Legion will open at 4 p.m. with food, entertainment raffles and live auction items.

Proceeds will benefit the non-profit Battle Buddy Foundation. Founded by Kenny Bass and Chrissy Faulkner, the organization provides service dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, at no cost to the veterans.
