Learning to be safe


The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office recently held its annual Safety City program at Evergreen Community Library in Metamora. A total of 44 children participated in the weeklong event, where they learned the importance of safety in the home, school, and on the street. Safety topics included gun safety, water, dog and bike safety, and fire safety, and included a special tour of the Metamora Fire/EMS Department. Evergreen Local Schools provided a bus ride for the kids and discussed bus safety. There were many special guests throughout the week who provided enjoyable learning experiences.
