The Swanton Area Community Coalition (SACC) has announced an Easter egg hunt event for Swanton third and fourth grade students on Saturday at Swanton’s Memorial Park. The Swanton third and fourth grade students are being acknowledged and celebrated for all they have accomplished with SACC this school year.
This year is the first year SACC has been able to engage students at the third and fourth grade level in drug prevention education. Some lessons that the students have learned include communication skills, time management, stress management, medication safety, and decision making.
SACC officials are proud of these students because of their enthusiasm and passion to participate within the program. Their hope is to see this enthusiasm continue as many of these students continue on to Swanton Middle School, where they will have the opportunity to join the SEED program.
Swanton families of third and fourth grade students including younger siblings are welcome to join. Rain or shine, the Easter Egg Hunt will be at 11 a.m. There will be 1,000 eggs filled with goodies courtesy of Texas Roadhouse’s Holland location.
SACC is also invited family members to take this opportunity to gain knowledge on medication safety, while the children are enjoying the Easter Egg Hunt.
The Swanton Lions Club is hosting an Easter Egg hunt for little ones of all ages at the park on April 13 and the Swanton Public Library has a hunt on April 19. More details to come.
