As part of Pike-Delta-York’s elementary kindergarten registration process for the 2019-20 school year, kindergarten screenings will be held Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26.
At the screening children will be assessed for kindergarten readiness in the areas of language, concepts, and motor skills. Speech and language will be assessed by the speech pathologist, and the nurse will perform vision and hearing screenings. The entire process will take approximately one hour.
During the screening appointment, parents will complete the online registration process. The nurse will meet with parents to review health history and immunization records.
There will also be a brief parent meeting to cover transportation and lunch, absenteeism, and disciplinary procedures.
Children who will be five years old prior to Aug. 1, 2019, can be scheduled for a screening appointment. Call Delta Elementary School after April 8 at 419-822-5630. Photocopies are birth certificate, custody papers (if applicable), immunization records and proof of residency in the P-D-Y school district – current utility bills, driver’s license, payroll stub, home deed or lease agreement – are required.
Current kindergarten students will not have school April 25-26.
