• Swanton Local Schools was seeking passage of a 4.9-mill operating levy.

• The Swanton team of Brandon Bachler, Matt Culbreath, Andrew Dittes, Shawn Hall, and Adam Walter was recognized by the Swanton Board of Education for their top ratings at the Northwest Ohio Computer Challenge and Skills Fair.

• The Ohio High School Athletic Association rejected a proposal from state football coach to increase the number of playoff teams in each region from four to eight.

• Third and four grade students at Park Elementary School presented the operetta, “Hello World.” Students will speaking parts were Bob Rupp, Lois Dorsey, Judy Steyer, Randy Drewyor, Mike Fleming, Terry Tucker, James Saxer, Scott Flowers, Jeff Gilmartin, and Joey Wagner.

• The Swanton Meat Market and Locker homemade bulk sausage for 49 cents per pound.
