• The Swanton Rescue Department held an open house to give residents a look at its recently updated equipment and facilities on Chestnut Street.

• Through the efforts of the Swanton Athletic Boosters, efforts to renovate the Swanton football stadium began. It included reseeding, tiling and crowning of the field, new lights and new bleachers.

• Rebecca Kreuz of St. Richard School received a $5 check for her performance in The Greater Toledo Council of Teachers of Mathematics competition.

• Evergreen High School presented the musical “George M.” Lead cast members included Tom Loeffler, Bob Keller, Jan Saegar, Debbie Seaman, and Mary Porter.

• The Swanton High School track, baseball and golf teams opened their seasons with victories.
