• Swanton Junior High School’s Student Council led a fundraiser effort at the school that contributed to beautification of building grounds. Student Council officers were Kristin Szymanowski, president; Cecilio Avila, vice president; Alicia Brashear, secretary; and Jody Graber, treasurer.

• The cost of a single issue of the Enterprise increase from 50 cents to 75 cents.

• Swanton Volunteer Fire Department cadets participated in a training session. Among the cadets were Jeffrey Dennis, Robert Lovejoy, Alan Robasser, Sam Onweller, Richard Chapman, Walter Seeman III, George Quay, Phil Whiker, and Terrence Taylor.

• Minute steak was on sale at Don’s Superette for 99 cents per pound.

• Pat Doyle Buick-Opel-Pontiac offered a 1968 Pontiac Bonneville for $2,395.

• An amusement park was planned on Indianola Island near Waterville. Planned features included a roller coaster, Japanese dancing garden, boardwalk, merry-go-round, Ferris wheel, and a golf course.
