Two groups of Swanton Accounting students competed in an invite only Accounting Contest sponsored by the University of Toledo.

Teams were introduced to a litigation case that contained fraud, and were allowed to separately question and interview eight litigants during the morning session. The afternoon session was spent writing a case brief that explained where and with whom the fraud was caused.

University of Toledo accounting students graded the briefs from all teams involved, and awarded prize money to the top three case briefs and electronic presentations. Swanton Accounting was awarded first place and third place overall.

The first place team of Amanda Hayes, Shae Hallowell, Lindsey Fickel, and Claire Leidigh was awarded $500 and the third place team of Josh Bradish, Antonio Cervantes, Sam Incorvaia, and Deric Mersereau $300.

Swanton Accounting is a program enrolled through Tech Prep of Northwest Ohio and The University of Toledo, and is funded through the Penta Career Center. Students are receiving college accounting credits through their high school course work.
