Wedding plans announced

The parents of Kelly J. Smith and Joshua M. Obermiller are pleased to announce their engagement. Smith is the daughter of Steven and Alice Smith of Swanton. Obermiller is the son of Jim and Karen Obermiller of New Philadelphia.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Evergreen High School and a 2007 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology, specializing in early childhood and family studies. She is the Director of the Indianola Children Center in Columbus.

The groom-elect is a 2003 graduate of Tusky Valley High School and a 2007 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He is currently employed by Malcolm Pirnie in Columbus as a structural engineer.

They met as members of the OSU Water Ski and Wakeboard Club. They served together as officers for three years. The couple enjoy wakeboarding, motocross and snowboarding together.

The couple will be married Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Calvary Bible Chapel in Toledo and will reside in Columbus after a Jamaican honeymoon.
