Bulldogs runner-up at Liberty Center relays

LIBERTY CENTER – Swanton Junior High track and field had a pair of runner-up finishes at the Liberty Center Relay Invitational Friday.

Both their boys and girls finished second to Liberty Center.

For the Swanton boys, the discus relay of Bryce Marvin, Hunter Gowing and Joe Sarvo took first. The long jump relay of Lathan Pawlowicz, Zach Wernsing, and Xander Wiemken also took first for the Bulldogs.

Taking second for the Dogs was the high jump relay of Pawlowicz, Reese Oberheim, and Kayden Davis. The 4×100 team of Blaize Garncarz, Garrett Swank, Gavin Parker and Pawlowicz also was runner-up.

In the girls meet, Swanton’s discus relay of Trista Eitniear, Frankie Nelson and Lela Weiss was victorious. Their long jump relay of Audrey Szalapski, Jayden Hendricks, and Ava Bond placed first.

Taking second in running events for the Dogs was the 4×400 team of Brooke Dockery, Macy Pawlowicz, Szalapski and Hendricks; the sprint medley of Bond, Lilly Alfsen, Szalapski and Hendricks; and the throwers relay of Sofie Taylor, Nelson, Morgan Pettit and Eitniear.

Swanton’s shot put relay of Pettit, Eitniear, and Taylor also placed second.
