Dogs handle Liberty Center

Swanton won a home match against Liberty Center 176-195 in Northwest Ohio Athletic League golf last Tuesday at Valleywood.

Shooting the best score for the match was Austin Luce of Swanton with a 39. Carter Swank followed him with a 41, while Randy Slink, Brady Lemons and Raymond Schad each shot a 48.

Leading Liberty Center were Olivia Zacharias with a 43, Cameron Kern and Sam Raby each with a 47, and Manny Keller who shot a 58.

The Bulldogs then took third to Central Catholic and Whitmer in a home tri-match on Wednesday. Central Catholic was first with a 169 total, Whitmer was second at 174, and Swanton third at 176.

Luce and Swank each shot a 43 to lead the Dogs. Slink was next with a 44, while Lemons shot a 46.

Swanton fell to Archbold and Patrick Henry 161-178-182 at Valleywood in NWOAL play Thursday.

The top score came from Brandon Miller of Archbold who shot a 39. Trevor Rupp and Kade Kern each shot a 40 for the Blue Streaks, and Mitch Grosjean notched a 42.

Luce and Swank shot a 42 for Swanton, Slink added a 48, and Lemons 50.

Following the third place finish on Thursday, Swanton now sits at 2-3 in the league. The NWOAL Golf Championships are this Friday at Auglaize Golf Club in Defiance.
