The Swanton cross country team lacks numbers, but with four returning letter winners, expect them to be better than last season.
“We will be leaning on our returning letter winners to lead us this season and hope to get contribution from our newcomers,” said coach Ryan Borer, who enters his fourth season in charge of the Bulldogs.
While the Bulldogs did lose boy runners Jacob Lee and Brandon Swartz, they return much more than they lost.
Back for Swanton are Josh Bradish (district qualifier), Nick Eisel and Camrin Santchi. Rayven McMahan is back for the girls squad.
They add newcomers Tanner Prentice and Brett Bettinger to the mix as well.
“We expect to compete and get better with every meet, with hopes of getting league honors and advancing in the postseason,” stated Borer.
The Dogs open the season Saturday when they participate in the St. John’s Invitational at 9 a.m.
