Swanton girls second at tri-meet

WAUSEON – Swanton was at Wauseon last Tuesday for an NWOAL tri-meet that also featured Evergreen. The Indians swept both the boys and girls competitions.

Wauseon was led in the boys meet by Caleb Blanchong who won both the 800 and 3200 meter run. For Swanton, Dylan Gilsdorf cleared 5’6” to win the high jump.

Evergreen got individual titles from Hunter Van Wert in the 100m and Josh Laux in the 300m hurdles.

In the girls meet, Wauseon’s Seneca Wyse was victorious in the 100m, 200m and 400m. Halen Mealer added wins in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles.

For Swanton, Kyleigh Koback won the 800m, Julia Smith the high jump and Hannah Grabke the pole vault.

Evergreen’s Bailie Sutter was victorious in the long jump.

Both the Swanton teams took sixth at the Port Clinton Invitational on Friday. The boys finished with a total of 63 points, while the girls had 70 points.

Swanton next hosts Archbold and Delta in a NWOAL tri-meet Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
