Bulldogs shine at home meet

Swanton track and field hosted Montpelier and Patrick Henry in a NWOAL tri-meet on Tuesday.

The boys defeated Montpelier and Patrick Henry 65.5-61.5-49, while the girls defeated the Patriots with the Locomotives coming in third, 89-43-41.

In the boys meet, the Bulldogs got wins from Jonny Shanks in the 300m hurdles, Brett Bettinger in the 3200m, Gunnar Oakes in the high jump, Bryce McComb in the long jump and Owen Dodd in discus.

Winning multiple events for the girls were Bridget Harlett in the 100m and 200m, and Julia Smith in both the high jump and long jump.

Also victorious for the Dogs were Haley Nelson (400), Ally Hendricks (300 hurdles), Kiley Koback (800), Hannah Grabke (pole vault) and Sidney Taylor (shot put).

Swanton is in action today when they take part in the Gibsonburg Invitational.
