A pair of Swanton wrestlers reached the podium at the Ohio Athletic Association’s grade school state wrestling tournament held in Youngstown March 19-20.

Kaiden Bryan, a third grader at Park Elementary, wrestled his way to third place and Bryce Marvin, a sixth grader at Swanton Middle School, wrestled his way to seventh place.

Both boys were in brackets of 32 of the best wrestlers in the state.

For Bryan, this was his third time on the podium at this tournament, one of which he was the champion. This was also Marvin’s second time on the podium at this tournament. Kaiden is looking forward to returning to the tournament for a few years to come and Bryce is looking forward to joining the junior high team next year.

Bryan is the son of Crystal Bryan of Swanton and Marvin is the son of Dave and Sharon Marvin, also of Swanton.

Both boys credit their success to their wonderful coaches. The Bulldog Biddy wrestlers were led by head coach Dean Druschel and his assistant coach, Reid Rayfield.
