Swanton ranked by area soccer coaches

The Swanton girls soccer team was the top rated Division III team in northwest Ohio by area coaches following the regular season. The final Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association poll of the season rated the Bulldogs first.

They were followed by Liberty-Benton, Woodmore and Eastwood. Archbold was seventh.

Swanton also received votes in the final statewide coaches poll of the season.

The Bulldogs have three losses on the season, all to teams ranked in the northwest Ohio poll. They fell to Ottawa-Glandorf, who was third in Division II, Central Catholic, who was fifth in Division II and Eastwood, who was fourth in Division III.

Swanton takes on Eastwood Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the district semifinal at Genoa High School. The winner plays either Archbold or Woodmore Saturday at 2 p.m. at Genoa.
