Area information available at village hall

Did you know that Swanton has a “Fine Art Circle of Friends?” I didn’t. I found their pamphlet in our information rack in the lobby at Village Hall.

Swanton Fine Art Circle of Friends supports the growth and exhibitions of fine art in the Swanton area with proceeds benefiting college art scholarships for high school students in our area. Their purposes are as follows: to develop and promote achievements of artistic talent in the Swanton area, encourage greater visibility and interaction between schools and institutions of higher learning through awarding art scholarships to youth, enriching the cultural life of our community through funding of an annual open juried art exhibit, serving as a liaison with the private sector in support of an annual exhibit, building relationships among Chamber members, strengthening and promoting visual literacy skills from local and regional art experts to increase fluency in the language of images.
