Swanton man sentenced


A Swanton man was sentenced recently by Judge Jeffrey Robinson in Fulton County Common Pleas Court, according to Prosecutor Scott Haselman.

Anthony McCauley, 71, of Swanton, previously pleaded guilty to five counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. On or about Nov. 9, 2016, to May 11, 2017, he knowingly solicited, purchased or received material that showed a minor participating or engaging in sexual activity.

He was sentenced to five years in prison, and was ordered to pay any fees, court-appointed frees, and all prosecution costs. He was also found to be a Tier II sex offender, which requires address registration and verification for 25 years with in-person verification every 180 days with the sheriff of all counties in which he resides.
