Marching bands to compete in Swanton

The annual Bulldog Bowl band competition will take place on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Hansbarger Stadium.

Eight High School Marching Bands will be competing with the first band to start at 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the stadium. General admission is $7, students under 15 years old and senior citizen tickets are $6.

Attendees can come out to cheer for the bands, buy a 50/50 ticket, and visit the concession stand and famous pie tent.

Spectator parking for this event will be in the parking lot on Dodge Street closest to the stadium (near old middle school site). Both entrances to Swanton High School, Main Street and Dodge Street, will be closed to all traffic as soon as the volleyball tournament ends, other than the residents of the Ashberry Farms neighborhood and visiting buses. All other vehicles will be re-routed by volunteers to keep all of the students safe.

At the Columbus Grove competition on Sept. 30, the Swanton Marching Band received an Excellent rating. They also won best color guard in Class C and were second place overall in Class C.
