The 160th Annual Fulton County Fair will offer a huge mix of free events and exhibits for fairgoers of all ages.
Family Adventure Zone
Fair organizers are excited to bring the new Family Adventure Zone to the Fulton County Fair this year. Families with kids of all ages, from babies to teenagers, are invited to stop by and try the inflatable obstacle course, laser tag, children’s games and more – all free of charge.
Red Dragon Laser Tag will run games Sept. 2 through Sept. 5, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
The entire fairgrounds are stroller-friendly and there are plenty of shaded picnic areas to snack, rest and regroup. The Fair also accommodates families with infants with a private, comfortable mother’s area in the Ag Organization Building.
Hearing the beat of drums and guitar rhythms with a backdrop of Fair squeals of delight are memories for the making. This year, the Fulton County Fair boasts free live concerts and a variety of ongoing entertainment at the South Stage throughout the week.
Fan-favorite, The Van-Dells, hit the stage on Friday, Sept 2 at 7:30 p.m.. This free concert has become a local tradition and is loved by audiences year after year.
Adding to the 50s sound is Blend, an a capella doo-wop group that takes the South Stage on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. They make very clear in their frivolous act that they love what they do, always adding a twist of fun to every performance.
On Sunday evening, the Fair welcomes back Christian pop rock band, OBB, at the Christian Music Building. This young trio of brothers are rising stars in Christian music and are excited to share their positive message with Fulton County for another year.
Glassblowing Demo & Auction
This year, fair organizers welcome Mobile Glass Studios to the north end of the Arts & Crafts Building from Saturday, Sept. 2 through Monday, Sept. 4. Fairgoers can see free demonstrations of the lost art of glassblowing, with glassblown items auctioned off at the fair.
Women’s Day Events
Women of all ages look forward to Wednesday of Fair when the Fulton County Assoc. of Ohio Homemakers and Community Education and Extension Service sponsors a half day of demonstrations geared for women.
Starting at 1 p.m., this year’s demonstrations include “Fall” Into Fashion with Gloria Kuntz and her team sharing the latest apparel and accessories to fast forward your wardrobe in the fall. At 1:45 p.m., women can join Rachel Kinsman as she shares tips on how to stay safe in and around your home. At 2:30 p.m., Kristy Clouse will share creative tips on cake decorating (and offer samples of her buttercream frosting).
Harness Racing has remained a favorite of Fulton County Fairgoers for decades. Trot on over to the Grandstand this year to join the fun. This free event takes place twice during the seven-day Fair – Saturday, Sept. 2 at 12:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. Pari-mutuel wagering will be available both days.
Fire Fighter Show
Kids and parents alike love the Fire Fighter show, returning again to the Fulton County Fair Park Area by the Biddle Building. The interactive show educates and entertains audiences on fire safety, teaching kids of all ages his trustworthy message: “Don’t Hide, Get Outside.” Shows will last from Saturday through Tuesday of Fair Week, teaching essential lessons children and adults will take with them.
