The Swanton Public Library has several programs planned for adults in August.
The cardmaking classes led by Anna Geist have been creative and fun, so library officials are offering another class on Thursday, Aug. 20 from 6:30-8 p.m. This month students will make a get well card, a sympathy card and a congratulations card.
Children over the age of eight, accompanied by an adult, are welcome to attend as well. The supply fee is $5 for three cards. Stop in at the library to look at samples or to register. You may also register online www.swantonpubliclibrary.org/node/240 or by phone at 419-826-2760.
Yoga Classes Expand
The yoga classes have been very popular under the guidance of instructor Aimee Strohbeck. During August, Aimee will continue with her Thursday morning yoga class, Intro to Yoga, and towards the end of the month will add a Monday morning class as well, Beginning Yoga.
Intro to Yoga will be held Thursday mornings, Aug. 6, 13, 20, and 27 from 10:15-11:30 a.m. Class fee is by donation, with proceeds going to the library. Students are asked to bring a yoga mat and towel and to wear comfortable clothing.
Beginning Yoga will be held Monday mornings, Aug. 24 and 31, from 10:15-11:30 a.m. This class will be slightly more advanced than the Thursday class, offering students an opportunity to expand their skill level. Class fee is $10 per session with multi-session tickets available. Students are asked to bring a yoga mat and towel and to wear comfortable clothing.
Cheryl Witt, Information and Referral Specialist from the Fulton County Senior Center, will be at the Swanton Public Library the third Thursday of each month this year from 10 a.m. to noon. Those dates are Aug. 20, Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17. Make an appointment to meet with Cheryl by calling 419-337-9299. Let her help you find the answers to your questions.
