The Emergency Management Agencies of Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putman, and Williams counties are sponsoring “Lessons Learned in the West Fertilizer Plant Explosion and Response Efforts,” Thursday, April 21, from 1-3 p.m. or from 7-9 p.m., at Sauder Heritage Inn in Archbold.
The presenter, Frank Patterson, has more than 30 years’ experience in the emergency response field and has served as the emergency management coordinator for Waco, Texas, and McLennan County since 1999, where he is responsible for emergency operations plans and response. Most recently, he served as Incident Commander for the vast multi-agency response following the April 17, 2013 West Fertilizer Company explosion.
The presentation is free and open to the public. It is geared towards first responders including fire and law enforcement agencies, emergency medical service personnel, agriculture, elected officials, emergency management, public health and hospitals.
