The OSU Extension office in Fulton County is inviting youth who turned 8 to 18 as of Jan. 1 to join their local 4-H Club.
An enrollment competition is being held through April 1, but enrollment continues through June 1. Youth would not be eligible for prizes or awards after the April 1 enrollment.
Members of 4-H can select from more than 250 projects to explore through club and county activities. Projects are explained in the Fulton County 4-H handbook available on the website at fulton.osu.edu.
Youth who join 4-H learn life skills, make new friends, enhance self-esteem, achieve personal goals, develop positive relationships with peers and volunteers, and have fun learning and sharing as a family and a club.
Out of pocket costs for participating include a $20 county activity fee per member. Projects sometimes need specific materials, supplies or animals to complete. Some clubs raise funds for their activities and some have dues or fees for refreshments, fair passes, T-shirts, and supplemental insurance, among others. Club events and opportunities also will sometimes require a fee.
