One injured in area crash

One person was injured in a crash involving an all-terrain vehicle in Spencer Township on Saturday

The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the two vehicle injury crash that occurred on Frankfort Road at Irwin Road in Spencer Township. The crash occurred at approximately 6:41 p.m.

A 2011 Honda Fit was eastbound on Frankfort Road, and driven by Jason Beebe, 43, of Swanton. A 2005 Honda FRX700 was southbound on Irwin Road, and driven by Travis Kamer, 22, of Gainesville, Fla.

Kamer failed to yield the right of way, and was struck by Beebe, according to authorities. Kamer was ejected from the all-terrain vehicle, and was not wearing a safety helmet. Kamer was taken by ground ambulance to the University of Toledo Medical Center.

Frankfort Road east of Irwin Road was closed for approximately twohours. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Metroparks, and the Spencer Township Fire Rescue Department.

The crash remains under investigation at this time. Alcohol is considered a factor in the crash.
