Swanton DI teams fare well

The Destination Imagination teams from Swanton Local Schools did well at this year’s tournament in Delta, according to the DI coordinator Jennifer Schmidt. Two Swanton teams placed first in their challenge.

Procrastinators Unite, a team from Swanton High School, was first in the Close Encounters challenge. The team includes Camrin Santchi, Katie Dzyak, Austin Hill, Emily Hill, Daisy Price, Serena Riling, and Haley Marvin. Schmidt serves as the coach.

The Einsteins, a team from Park Elementary School, placed first in the Get a Clue challenge. Team members include Emma Crow, Mika Levin, Elie Sachs, Faith Butler, Sophia Irons, Kailey Snyder, and Logan Pelland. The team is coached by Shandi Crow and Gino Levin.

Another Park School team, Stanky Cheese, was second in the same challenge. Team members are Kyleigh Shinaver, Devin Nijakowski, Sloane Geisel, Jack Kitzmiller, Jaydyn Friedman, and Madison Massey. Dory Geisel and Keri Koloziejczyk served as coaches.

The middle school team, Nerd Alert, also had a second place finish. The team consists of Tille Tufts, CJ Santchi, Reese Oberheim, Blake Ward, Ethan Walters, and fifth graders Sofie Taylor and Megan Haselman. Renee Tufts and Andrea Walters served as coaches.

Finishing third was the middle school team, All About That Bass. The team includes Colton Santchi, Xavier Weimken, Sydney Arthur-Davis, Rachael Waszak, Natalie Newman, and fifth graders Sadie Walters and Saylor McNally. They were coached by Dawn Santchi.
