Rental assistance is available


Rental assistance may be available to some area residents.

The Henry Metropolitan Housing Authority provides rental assistance according to the regulations of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. Assistance is given in the Ohio counties of Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Putnam and Wood to low-income families and individuals on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interested persons must fill out an application to get on the Henry MHA waiting list, which will be opening in February. The authority will open its waiting list on Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 2-4 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 19 from 2-4 p.m.

Applications will be taken at Oberhaus Park, 750 W. Maumee Ave., Napoleon.

Those who need help paying their rent due to their income are encouraged to apply.

Each applicant must bring a piece of mail verifying his or her current place of residence, and the Social Security card of each member living in the household.
