Ag solar power being discussed


An adult farmer/landowner meeting on solar power for the farm will be held Monday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Pettisville Agriculture Room.

Eric Romich, OSU Extension field specialist for energy development, will start the evening program with his presentation, “Considerations for On-Farm Solar Development.” Romich will provide an overview of the overall energy trends and policy drivers in Ohio, photovoltaic solar development on farms, financial overview of solar projects, and considerations for evaluating a solar energy proposal.

Other presentations include: “Harvest Solutions” by Ken Zebarah, territory manager for Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan; speaker Lee Andre, a local sales agent; and Ron Black of Wauseon, who will offer material from ecojiva, a website promoting solar energy for many different uses, including farm and residential systems.

All Pettisville Agricultural Education Adult meetings are open to the public, regardless of school district.
