Tuesday, Nov. 17

Storytime, 10:30 a.m. Weekly classes offered at Swanton Library for children ages 1 to 5 years. Children will play and learn about the space and the sky through stories, music, and crafts. Free. No registration required.

Wednesday, Nov. 18

Anime Club for grades 6-12, Swanton Public Library from 4-5:30 p.m. Join to watch two or three episodes of anime chosen by the attendees and make armbands. Popcorn, food, and drinks will also be provided. Participants are welcome to come in cosplay, anime or otherwise. Free.

Monday, Nov. 23

Harding Township Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. in the township building, if needed. The public is welcome.

Swanton Village Council will meet at the village hall, 219 Chestnut Street at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. The Water and Sewer and Finance Committees will meet prior to the meeting, beginning at 6 p.m.

Swanton Community Blood Drive, 12-6 p.m., Swanton Alliance Church Epic Center, 124 N. Main St., Swanton. Alzheimer’s Association Support Group, 3-4:30 p.m. at Swanton Health Care & Retirement Center, 214 S. Munson Road. Call 419-825-1145 for reservations. Ask for Chris, The Caregiver’s Caregiver.

Swanton Township Board of Trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Swanton Township Hall, 13410 Airport Highway. The public is welcome to attend.

Swancreek Water District Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the township building at 5565 County Road D. The public is welcome to attend.

Wednesday, Dec. 2

Hand-Painted Ornaments, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Swanton Public Library. Artist Cindy Aschliman will lead a class through painting large glass Christmas ornaments. These can be personalized, making them great for gifts. Paint one or paint several; the fee is $10 per ornament. No previous painting experience necessary – just bring a friend and have some fun! Registration required.

Monday, Dec. 7

Swancreek Township Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. at the township administrative office, 5565 County Road D. The public is welcome to attend.

Weekly/Monthly Event

Swanton Garden Club will hold monthly meetings. They will meet the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. Call Jan Heyman at 419-206-2047 or Elfrieda Jewell at 419-826-4129 prior to the meeting to find out the location.

Alzheimer’s Support Group, last Tuesday of each month, 3 p.m., 214 S. Munson Road, Swanton. Family members who are or will be caregivers are invited to a monthly forum. Come discuss your changing role and how to find resources to assist you. Call Chris Cremean for reservations at (419) 825-1145.

The Fulton County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society meets the second Tuesday of the month except July and August at 7 p.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 Taylor St., Delta. Speakers, programs, research tips. Public welcome.

OPERS Fulton County Chapter 29 meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Wauseon Senior Center.

Helping Other Parents Experiencing Grief (HOPE) is a support group that meets the third Monday of every month, except December, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fulton County Health Center meeting room. HOPE offers support for parents who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth or the death of infants, young children and teenagers due to illness or accident. The Quilt Bear Cafe Club is a monthly club that features a monthly “cup” of quilting. They meet the third Saturday of every month at The Quilt Bear Studio, 13115 Angola Road, Swanton, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and enjoy sewing time with friends, a light lunch, door prizes and more.
