A variety of programming is planned this month for adults at the Swanton Public Library
Artist Cindy Aschliman will be at the library to lead a class through the process of painting large glass Christmas ornaments. These can be personalized, making them great for gifts. Paint one or paint several; the fee is $10 per ornament.
No previous painting experience necessary – just bring a friend and have some fun. The program is Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Registration required. Stop by the library, register online www.swantonpubliclibrary.org/node/240 or by phone (419-826-2760).
Yoga classes have been quite popular under the guidance of instructor Aimee Strohbeck. During November, Strohbeck will continue with her Thursday morning yoga class, Intro to Yoga, as well as her Monday morning class, Beginning Yoga.
Intro to Yoga will be held Thursday mornings, Nov. 5, 12, and 19 from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. There will be no yoga on Thanksgiving as the library will be closed. Class fee is by donation, with benefits going to the library. Students are asked to bring a yoga mat and towel and to wear comfortable clothing.
Beginning Yoga will be held Monday mornings, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. These sessions will be slightly more advanced than those on Thursday, offering students an opportunity to expand their skill level.
Class fee is $10 per session with multi-session tickets available. Students are asked to bring a yoga mat and towel and to wear comfortable clothing.
Join the library for another make and take cardmaking class led by Anna Geis on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This month students will make Christmas cards.
Children over the age of eight, accompanied by an adult, are welcome to attend. This is a great opportunity for parents or grandparents to spend quality time and have fun making something with that special young person.
The supply fee is $5 for 3 cards. Stop in at the library to look at samples or to register. You may also register online www.swantonpubliclibrary.org/node/240 or by phone (419-826-2760).
The enthusiastic chess group, led by Joe Mossa, meets at the library Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. as well as Tuesday afternoons at 3. Players of all skill levels are welcome.

The daytime knitters will meet Mondays, Nov. 9 and 23 from 1:30 – 3 p.m. The evening group will meet Wednesday, Nov. 11 and Tuesday November 24 this month from 6:30-8 p.m.
All skill levels are welcome to attend this free class – crocheters are welcome too! Beginners please bring a pair of knitting needles, size 8 to 15.
